Argentina… well, Calle Florida in Buenos Airesto be exact. One visiting
Spaniard described it thus:
“Es como la calle Preciados pero mucho, mucho más larga. En el fondo mucho Buenos Aires es Madrid pero siempre así: todo más grande, más largo, más intenso o más tormentoso. Es la calle de las tiendas por excelencia, sobre todo la de las grandes cadenas de ropa. Merece la pena pasear por ella para ver el ambiente de compras y de algarabía. Muy cerca, andando hasta el final de la calle se encuentra la bella y mítica Plaza de San Martín, otro lugar de visita obligada en Buenos Aires.”
“It’s like Preciados Street in Madrid only much bigger and longer. Bascially, Buenos Aires is a lot like Madrid except everything is bigger, longer, more intense and more chaotic. This is a street of great shopping with a focus on the clothing franchises. It is worth a stroll to experience the shopping atmosphere and everyone talking at the same time. If you walk it until the very end, you’ll find another ‘must see’ attraction, the beautiful and mythical Plaza de San Martín.”
