Luis
Luis Rojas, native of Peru, graduated with a degree in Psychology but as is typical of a Latin American he has worked and trained in multiple capacities to include; Psychology, Air Traffic Controler, Pilot, Spanish Professor. His passion for teaching Spanish won out over the others however and as a successful independent contractor Luis has held contracts with several mining companies, several international mission boards and countless individuals since 1982 on his way to creating Rojas Spanish Language. ‘The Rojas Way’ has become a respected and recognized method of teaching Spanish that brings a person through the language in much the same way they learned their own native tongue. An understanding of grammar by it’s ‘music’ or sound is the backbone of the Rojas Way. Keeping the language in context is just as importante. Language is viseral not academic and Luis works for you to ‘ feel it, assimilate it and to use it to express yourself ‘.
Joan
Joan Rojas is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has worked more than 25 years in the field. A native of the United States and English speaker, she began to learn Spanish when she and Luis met. Five short years later, she quit her long time career in Psychology and immersed herself 100% in developing and expanding Rojas Spanish Language. She offers the all important ‘student perspective’ so that the balance between what is taught and what is learned is always optimized. Recognizing that language learning demands a reserve of emotional and psychological flexibility for success, she also writes a Blog with a focus on the ‘process’ of learning Spanish intended to acknowledge and defeat these insidious saboteurs.
René
René Ibarra is a native of Caracas, Venezuela where he graduated with a degree in Advertising. He worked in an Ad Agency in Caracas until he decided to come to Minnesota, learn English and expand his career to include Video and Digital Arts from the Minneapolis Community and Technical College. He then deepened his education even further by receiveing his Bachelor Degree in Marketing from St. Mary’s University of MN. Rene has been working with Joan and Luis filming, co-producing and editing the Viajando en Español Online Video Learning program from Rojas Spanish Language since January 2007.
